Joe Dante Produced 'Dark' Set For Festival Debut

Way back in August of 2013 we brought you news of a pretty awesome Kickstarter project directed by Nick Basile (American Carny), written by Elias Ganster (the upcoming Ayla) and produced by horror legend Joe Dante (Gremlins) called Dark. Dark was set during the infamous 2003 eastern seaboard blackout - a truly terrifying event. However, like many Kickstarter campaigns, after our original post it kind of faded from our minds....Until Now!

We got some awesome news today from writer Elias Ganster as Dark is set to make it's festival debut at the prestigious Oldenburg International Film Festival in Oldenburg, Germany. The festival runs September 16th through the 20th. So if you are in northeast Germany next month, make sure you stop by and support this project. Check out some pointed "re-purposing" from the original post:

Starring Whitney Able (All The Girls Love Mandy Lane) and Alexandra Breckenridge ("American Horror Story," "The Walking Dead," Dark  tells the story of "...Kate, a struggling 30-something model with a troubled past, has just moved into her girlfriend Leah’s Brooklyn loft but already doubts about their relationship have begun to loom. When Leah leaves for the weekend, Kate unexpectedly finds herself alone in the apartment in the midst of the worst blackout in North American history. As darkness falls over the city, Kate’s paranoia grows and she begins to believe someone in the building is stalking her. With no one to help her and escape out of reach, Kate is forced to confront her deepest fears as she fights to survive through the night."
