Thursday Morning Horror News Dump

Good Morning!

Two huge pieces of news involving Fox Searchlights 'Hitchcock' (formerly Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho). Ralph Macchio, that's right, the Karate Kid himself, has come aboard the Sacha Gervasi (The Story of Anvil) pic as screenwriter Joe Stefano. Macchio has flown under the radar for the most part since his role as Daniel LaRusso in the 'Karate Kid' films and his role in the (awesome) My Cousin Vinny. Also leaking yesterday, courtesy of People Magazine and Bloody-Disgusting was the first pic of Sir Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock. Check out the pic to the right. Not too bad eh?

Bill Moseley (The Devils Rejects) and Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes) have signed on to star in a new television series called 'Hell Hunters.' Described as “About two childhood friends from North Dakota who read a comic book and decide to become the murderous vigilante characters in real life.” The pilot will be directed by Jourdan McClure (Rogue River) and is expected to start shooting sometime over the summer. No word on what network is attached at this time.

'Silent Hill: Revelation 3D" finally has a theatrical release date. Sean bean, Deborah Kara Unger and Radha Mitchell all return from the original. Joining them are Kit Harrington (Game Of Thrones) and Adelaide Clemens (Vampire). The film was recently acquired by Open Road Films with a Halloween release date. It's an odd date to pick since, although it is a horror film, 'Silent Hill' isn't exactly something that could win a weekend, especially when pitted against a new 'Paranormal Activity' film. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see this one bumped at some point or even dumped direct to DVD/VOD.

News complied from various sources, unless otherwise noted.

As always, thanks for reading....and don't forget to vote on our new pole! Who would you like to see direct the 'Catching Fire' the next film in the 'Hunger Games' Trilogy?
